Moto 4 Score

Got lucky and picked this up off eBay for really cheap. I had bought it with intentions of stripping it down and painting it but when I opened the box and took a glimpse at how clean it was, I couldn't bring myself to take it from its original form. I'm keeping this thing just how it is. I have the matching red visor too but took it off for riding.

HIDE Motorcycles

These guys have some really awesome stuff coming out of their shop in Japan. They specialize in 4-speed Sportsters and Shovelheads but they popped off a clean fuel injected Sportster just to show they are not limited to Harleys lacking in that extra gear. Check out their site and this video!

Godspeed Lowbrow

This year Tyler of Lowbrow Customs and his brother have taken the approach of "go big or go home" or I guess "go twin or go home" would be more appropriate. Last years venture to Speed Week turned out to be quite successful for Lowbrow but when speaking in terms of speed, more is never enough. This year they have put together something that screams Salt Flat history... a twin engine Triumph. Here is last years preview of Speed Week and I'm sure there will be more shots of this years twin engine in the near future. Godspeed Lowbrow!

Show Class Mag @ Born Free 4

Daniel of Show Class Mag just knocked out this awesome video of Born Free. If you missed out, like myself, this is as close as you're going to get, unless your DeLorean's flux capacitor is in full working order. http://www.showclassmag.com/

Speed Merchant Style

I've been keeping a close eye on Speed Merchant's builds and they know how to build some serious Sportsters. Not only that, they make some pretty cool stuff for you modern Triumph riders as well. This build is just one of their awesome quad cams... you'll have to check out their page for their most recent build which they brought with them to Born Free 4. I think their 39mm preload fork adjusters may be one of my next purchases for the Sportster.

Go Skate Day - Huge Success

I didn't get to make it up to Jacksonville last week for "Go Skate Day" but from pictures posted and word of mouth, it seams to have been a huge success. It's refreshing to see things like this going on in Jacksonville. I look forward to returning home and being a part of events like this.

Quad Cams Forever

Each has their own direction but both are clean and mean looking Sportsters. I would love to hit some dirt with the Evo and a nice long straightaway on the Ironhead...

Go Skate Day

The infamous skatepark KONA is putting together an event on Thursday, June 21st in Hemming Plaza located in the center of downtown Jacksonville. As always, I'll miss out because I'm stuck in Orlando but if you're in the Jax area you should take the time to get out there. There will be an art show, skate contests with cash prizes, chopper and car show and Kings of Hell will be playing!

Riding Into History

Last weekend I had the opportunity to ride back home. I left early Saturday morning to meet up with a few friends in St. Augustine for breakfast. If you're ever in the Historic District of St. Augustine, swing by La Herencia for a bite. They make an awesome open face omelette. Afterward we all traded off bikes and I had the pleasure of riding my good friend Curtis' '53 Panhead to "Riding Into History", an annual vintage motorcycle show which is all for charity. This year it was The Wounded Warrior Project. We all had a great time, as always... I even ran into my good friend Jason from Dime City Cycles. Here are a few shots from the day, the first is one of Jason's build.

More Miles Ahead

Looks like I'll be making the trip from Orlando to Jax a bit more often starting next weekend. The old lady is moving back home, which gives me even more reason to make the trip. This picture is from yesterday's ride back to Orlando. Next weekend I'm helping her move and lucky me, I get to drive the moving truck.

Space Junk

I was graced with a Friday off and had nothing on my agenda so I jumped on the Sporty and headed east toward Merritt Island, which is home to the Kennedy Space Center. I ran across this NASA junkyard that had some pretty rad stuff on the other side of the fence. With my work schedule getting changed around I hope to have more time in the near future to explore central Florida a bit more.

DesmoHarley

Chris Barber created this Frankenstein of a motor by mixing a little Italian love with some American engineering. Take an H-D Evolution engine and throw some Ducati heads on her. Easy? Doubtful. But wow, what an awesome concept made into a reality.

Race Threads

My good friend landed a job at Stand 21 last month. He showed me what he gets to do all day by making up this prototype Harley race suit. Even threw my name on the front pocket and everything. Pretty cool gig he's got going. It's refreshing seeing close friends doing what they love.

KONA's Second Taste of American Iron

Here's another shot from Saturday that I just acquired from a friend. Not sure of the original source but props to them for an awesome photo!

Hometown's Vert Jam

Rode up to Jacksonville early Saturday so I could avoid the known weather ahead. Spent some time at my man Curt's place showing his panhead a little love before we jammed up to Kona Skatepark where he was asked to bomb down the snake-run on his '53! It wasn't the first time he's done it but there was more of a crowd this go around. After the crowd had their fill, Scharf of Renegade Magazine asked if Curtis would place his bike at the bottom of these stairs for a few photos of the Creature team flippin' a few boards over it. I'm sure Scharf got some better snaps than my phone could ever catch. All in all it was a good day in Jax... even getting caught in a downpour on the way back to his shop was kind of fun. I can't wait to get back to the city I love. There's never a dull moment.

Deus ex Machina

Biltwell Seat & Bracket For Sale or Trade - SOLD

No use for this smooth slimline Biltwell seat anymore. I ended up going a different route on my Sportster. I'll take cash or trade for anything I may find useful on my CB750 build. Two things I really need are a 19" laced narrow glide wheel and a nice front master cylinder. If ya have anything else or seem interested with a reasonable offer shoot me an email. Florida Vert Jam

This Saturday, April 21st I'll be making the trip back to Jacksonville for KONA's Florida Vert Jam. The Creature team will be there and so will my close friends from Livewire Tattoo and Engine 15 Brewing Co. So strap your board down to your cycle and come enjoy the brew and food. If you have a vintage cage feel free to bring her up as well!

Ya Get Screwed, Ya Suck It Up & Ya Move On

So upon my return from school Monday night, I found my roommates packing up and bailing on our lease. Thanks to my girlfriend and family I was only homeless for about ten minutes. My only housing option was one that was garage-less, so without hesitation I called a storage unit near my new place and snagged up a 10x15 box. Not huge by any means, but enough room to squeeze in all my tools, the CB750 project and some floor space to work. For the remainder of the time I'm down here in Orlando I think this will work just fine. I may be short on luck but I sure as hell have learned to adapt.

STEVE McQUEEN's 1971 Film "Le Mans"

I first saw the movie Bullitt with my dad when I was way too young to even think of sitting behind a steering wheel. At the time I had no idea who Steve McQueen was but the quick and cool mustang stuck in my head. The other night I found the DVD for $5 and couldn't pass it up. That makes for three McQueen classics in my movie collection and it looks like now I need to snag a fourth...

GSXR to CB750 Transplant

FINALLY in the process of the front-end transplant I've been planning for months now. I have the forks torn down for a rebuild and the clamps are getting painted. New diameter neck bearings are in the works from my boys at Dime City Cycles and I also picked up a new throttle assembly and clutch perch from them as well. If you know of anyone selling a laced 19" HD wheel, a master cylinder assembly and a 04-05 GSXR rotor, shoot me an email. ironpromotions@gmail.com

She Runs!

Replaced a few charging components and drove her over to the new pad on Wednesday. Oh, ya... I moved! Once I get the garage organized and settled it's time to start back up on the neglected CB750, which now has a GSXR front-end waiting for it!

Looking Up & Looking Forward

I must say, these past few weeks I've really been cranking on the car and as much as I love working on her I can't wait until I can turn my attention to the CB750 again. I've been following two builders a lot recently and what they've been doing is really giving me the itch to see where I can stand. If you haven't heard of Pangea Speed or Death Science, take the time and check them out. They are doing some pretty awesome things... things I hope to soon take a swing at.

Fluid... Check!

I fixed the fill tube on the transmission of the Galaxie yesterday. Thank Satan for JB Weld, as a new pan and tube is near impossibly to find at my budget. Filled it up with fluids and she's nearly ready, I just have to fix the flat tire and finish cleaning out the fuel tank. How a car picks up a nail while sitting in a garage will always be a mystery.
