"Boys No Good is a pop punk band from Jacksonville, FL. Their blend of fast hardcore with catchy pop punk is grounded by front man Tommy Patrick's clean and sometimes raw vocals. As one reviewer writes: Boys No Good Are So Good. The Floridian 5-piece came together over friendship surrounded by skateboarding and music. It didn’t take long for the newcomers to inspire fans nationally with the release of their self-titled 5-song demo in December 2009. Since then the group has toured the U.S. receiving mass fan praise playing along side of bands like New Found Glory, Bane, The Wonder Years, Evergreen Terrace and many more. Boys No Good is working on a full-length album set to release in 2011. You can download the demo for free at www.myspace.com/bngjax"

Boston Mike's Grand Opening
It's still a bit away but that will give you plenty of time to prepare! I'm going to try and round up a crew to ride out early that Sunday (June 5th) so if you're interested in going shoot me a message. I imagine we'll take US1 to Bunnell, SR11 to Deland and US17 into Sanford but if anyone else knows of some other backroads feel free to speak up!

Myra Oh
I purchased this awesome watercolor painting from my close friend and local tattoo artist Myra Oh. She slings a mean brush when she isn't tattooing. For anyone who's in the North Florida area, she just moved into Eric Blair's new shop Diadem Tatoo off of Wells Rd. in Orange Park. If you're looking for a solid traditional styled tattoo, she's where it's at. Talent and easy on the eyes!

Savior With An Anvil
I ran into a little issue with the Sportster on Friday night. It could have been a lot worse than it was. My friend Nick came to the rescue on Saturday and helped with the repair since the dealer part was 3-5 days out. A little wire feed and good as new. I took a shot of this anvil he had just scored from a local pawn shop while I was there. He does a lot of awesome artistic metal work, so I know he's going to get a lot of use out of it. Thanks Nick!

What To Do In Peru?
So May 14th I'm headed to Peru with several friends. I'm excited to explore a new culture and way of living. I've only been to Mexico and Canada thus far so I'm looking forward to a new continent. The guys I'm going with aren't all experienced on motorcycles but I'm hoping to at least get then on some scooters. After all, two wheels is two wheels... right?

Dime City Cycles Grand Opening
Last August I had the pleasure of meeting Jason from Dime City Cycles when he agreed to pack up a few of his custom cafe creations and head to Jacksonville for the "Wolfgang Oil Mixer" a few friends and I put on. DCC builds some awesome cafe inspired motorcycles and since last August they have made quite the name for themselves in the motorcycle industry. May 14th they are having their grand opening party in Largo, FL. Unfortunately for me, I will be out of the country but I've seen first hand the work and effort they put into their bike builds and I know without a doubt their grand opening is going to be worth the ride. Mark your calendars and get your ride ready, it's going to be one hell of a good time!
"Presented by Preachers Motorcycle Promotions in partnership with Winters, Yonkers and Brothers Powdercoating- come join the crews from Dime City Cycles and Cafe Racer TV for the best and most unique grand opening celebration the South has seen! Enjoy live music by The Dive Bar Stalkers, get your vote in for the official Miss Dime City USA Pin Up pageant, and enter your awesome garage built and legit vintage speed machine in the ride-in bike show for a shot at $250 and tons of other prizes!
In addition, Dime City will have vendors on-site from the likes of Rusty Knuckles showing off their kick-ass southern clothing label, pinstriping onsite by Liza (aka: Von Dutchs’ Daughter) so bring your stuff, and The Ace Cafe right from London. Yep that’s right folks, the Ace Cafe is coming to Dime City, so all you Rockers better drag those old Norton’s and BSA’s out for some fresh air! And if that isn’t enough for ton chasin’ mayhem havin’ self, the entire crew from the Lowside Syndicate out of Baltimore, MD will be here celebrating their issue #5 release party featuring the CB400F project bike Dime City will be building for season 2 of Cafe Racer on HD Theater.
New bikes, old bikes, choppers, bobbers, brats or cafes- they’re all welcome, so come partake in this rip riot, ground-pounding, two wheeled extravaganza that’s bringin’ vintage back and puttin’ Tampa Bay on the Map!" - DCC
Jacksonville History Lesson
Check out the Spottswood Collection for more historical Jacksonville photos. There are over 50,000 photographs Jack Spottswood captured documenting Florida's history between 1916 and 1967. Most are dated and titled so you can search through them easier.

Engine 15 VW Show n' Swap
This was my first time up at Engine 15 Brewing Co. and I was quite impressed. I woke up early and decided to take advantage of the nice weather and a day off work so I jumped on the bike and headed for the beach. I had no idea the show was even going on, I just happen to see the swarm of VWs in the parking lot and decided to stop in. Engine 15 is unique in that you can walk in (by appointment) and brew your own beer! You get to pick the ingredients etc etc and they walk you through the steps on brewing your own batch. They also have an extensive selection of beer on tap, as well as a good choice in wine... oh and they serve food too! I could go on and on but you should really just check out their webpage for all the details. http://www.engine15.com/
Much Tanks Lowbrow!
This will be the second time the guys from Lowbrow Customs have pulled through for us on an event. They have one hell of a business going and are constantly adding new stuff to their inventory. I can't thank them enough for their contributions.
Two local tattoo artists will be slinging their own unique designs on these tanks. The first is Mike Wilson from the famous Inksmith & Rodgers Tattoo and the second is Chance Isbell from Black Hive Tattoo. Both are stand up guys. I have had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Chance several times. And Mike shares the strong passion of motorcycles. His close friends are always joking with him as to whether he owns enough bikes for a calendar shoot yet.
I'll keep updating as we get closer to May 4th and you just keep coming back!

Good Times
I just ran across this photo from last year's "Wolfgang Oil Mixer". Two of my close friends Matt and Matt posing alongside a happy raffle winner of a Biltwell novelty lid. Thanks Biltwell for bringing smiles to Jacksonville!
BRAIN fART Helmet & Tank Charity Art Show
So Iron Promotions and our close friends have not put together an event since last November's "Skate Fast Ride Faster" and we've had this one in the works for a few months now. It's finally time to tell the masses. On Wednesday May 4th we are putting together a motorcycle inspired art show, where local artist will have the opportunity to paint on donated tanks and helmets from companies like Biltwell, Lowbrow, Dime City Cycles and Cyco Cycle. Come out and bid on your favorite tank and/or helmet, grab a free brew, enjoy some live music and watch some live painting go down. The best part is, proceeds made from tank and helmet sales are going to the local Wolfsons Children's Hospital ( www.wolfsonchildrens.org ). Afterward we'll be riding up to Square One, a local bar across the St Johns River, where STRATA Clothing will be releasing their summer clothing line. Square One will have free PBR flowing from 9-11pm (or dry) and there are always plenty of gorgeous girls.
The gallery will be on display from Wednesday night starting at 5pm until Friday night, however you will only be able to place bids on Wednesday night from 5-9pm. There will be a booth setup where you can place your "silent auction" style bid. After the auction has been finalized on Wednesday night, the remaining tanks and helmets will be for sale online, however prices will increase in comparison to the starting bids from Wednesday.
Local tattoo artist Myra Oh will also have her watercolor "flash" style paintings for sale and she has also agreed to contribute a portion of her sales to the Wolfsons Children's Hospital.
If you have a business and/or company that would like to donate a new/used tank and/or helmet to the cause PLEASE contact us! One thing we take pride in is giving those who contribute the deserved honor and publicity. We can never have enough tanks or helmets, the more we have to auction off, potentially the more money we can raise for the Wolfsons Children's Hospital.
May 4th - Wednesday Night 5-9pm
@ The Art Center Co-Op
229 N. Hogan Street
Jacksonville, FL 32202 (Downtown Jacksonville)
For any questions or concerns about the event, please feel free to contact us via email at ironpromotions@gmail.com

A bit late but... Lowbrow at Speedweek 2010
Tyler, owner of Lowbrow Customs and his brother took their Triumphs out to the flats this past year. Tyler hit an impressive 111 mph on his 750! Though I'm sure most are already familiar with Lowbrow and their impressive online store, take the time and check it out, as they are always getting new stuff in.
Not only does Tyler know how to run a business, he knows how to build some mad clean bikes and he's one hell of a guy for supporting our events!
